BenchDesk Privacy Policy
Effective September 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how BenchDesk handles information when repair businesses and their authorized users use the service. BenchDesk is designed to store and process the operational information a shop chooses to manage in the product.
1. Information we collect
We collect account and shop information such as names, email addresses, business contact details, subscription status, settings, and authorized team memberships. Shops may also enter customer, device, ticket, estimate, invoice, payment-record, appointment, inventory, attachment, message, and other business information.
We also process technical and security information needed to operate the service, such as authentication events, audit records, request metadata, feature usage, error information, and information supplied when you contact support or submit feedback.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure BenchDesk; authenticate users; maintain shop workspaces; process subscription and integration requests; deliver requested communications; support customer-service functions; diagnose errors; prevent abuse; maintain audit and recovery features; and improve the reliability and usability of the service.
BenchDesk does not sell customer or shop data to advertisers.
3. Shop data and customer information
Each shop controls the business information it submits to BenchDesk and is responsible for having an appropriate legal basis to collect and use its customers' information. BenchDesk processes that information to provide the service to the shop.
Public customer ticket links, booking pages, intake pages, and shop sites expose only the information required for those specific experiences. Shops should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information.
4. Service providers and integrations
BenchDesk relies on service providers for infrastructure, database hosting, storage, email delivery, payment processing, and other technical functions. When a shop enables a third-party integration, information necessary to provide that integration may be exchanged with the selected provider. Those providers may have their own privacy terms.
BenchDesk's subscription billing provider processes payment credentials used to purchase BenchDesk. BenchDesk does not need to store a customer's full payment-card number to maintain subscription status.
5. Cookies and local storage
BenchDesk may use essential cookies or browser storage for authentication, security, preferences, and product functionality. We do not describe optional advertising tracking as active unless it is actually enabled.
6. Retention, export, and deletion
Information is retained while needed to provide the service, meet legitimate operational or security needs, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable obligations. BenchDesk provides account and data-management tools where available, including export and account-deletion workflows. Some security, billing, backup, or legal records may be retained for a limited period after deletion when reasonably necessary.
7. Security
BenchDesk uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including tenant-scoped access controls, authentication controls, encrypted network transport, audit and security records, and infrastructure controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and users remain responsible for protecting their credentials and devices.
8. Your choices and requests
Authorized users can update many account and shop settings in BenchDesk. Depending on applicable law and your relationship to the service, you may also request access, correction, export, or deletion of information by contacting support@benchdesk.app. If your information was entered by a repair shop using BenchDesk, contact that shop first because the shop controls its customer records.
9. Children
BenchDesk is business software and is not directed to children. Shops are responsible for handling any customer information they collect in accordance with applicable law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as BenchDesk, its providers, or applicable requirements change. Material changes will be posted through the service or otherwise communicated reasonably, and the effective date above will be updated.
